BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Appointed District Court Judge on June 4th, 2007, by Governor Tim Pawlenty, after screening and recommendation by the Commission on Judicial Selection.  Elected to 6-year term in November 2008.

Leadership & Professional Activities:
Current Chair of the Washington County Bench; Current member of the Washington County Community Corrections Advisory Board; Former Chair of the 19th District Ethics Committee; member of District Ethics Committee for over 15 years.  Past President of the 19th District Bar Association (Washington, Chisago, Pine & Kanabec counties);  Former Member, Washington County Mentally Ill Offender Task Force, Washington County Courts Planning Committee, Washington County Crime Victims Ad Hoc Committee.  Lecturer/Presenter at Continuing Legal Education Programs.
 
Education:
University of Minnesota Law School, J.D., 1986; University of Minnesota, B.A., 1983.
 
Experience:
20+ years of courtroom experience.  Prosecutor in Washington County for more than 15 years.  Significant family court and probate court experience.  Recipient, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Award of Recognition, 1994 for prosecution of DWI offenders.

Community Activities:
Member - Trinity Lutheran Church -Stillwater;
St. Croix Valley Athletic Association youth softball & basketball coach; Meals on Wheels volunteer; 
Instructor/Lecturer - Oakdale Citizens Academy.
